Principal Cheryl Griffiths

 

Cheryl Griffiths has worked in the public K-8 educational system for the last 22 years. The first ten years as a teacher and the last twelve as an administrator.  In addition to her administrative and teaching credentials she holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from Stanislaus State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Brandman University a branch of Chapman University. 

As an educator she has always kept the focus on academics and student achievement while maintaining an API well above the state average of 800.  During her tenure as an administrator she worked to increase staff development and collaboration, maintain fiscal solvency, improve facilities, increase technology for both students and staff, increase student and staff safety, and successfully implemented the new Common Core standards and SBAC testing.

Mrs. Griffiths is a native Californian she was born in the bay area; however she has lived in Tuolumne County for the last 27 years.  She currently lives in Jamestown with her husband Kirt.  They have two grown children and two grandchildren.  Amanda (29), currently resides in Germany with her husband Thomas (a military man) and their two children Adelynn(6) and Matthew(4). Their son Colton (27) is a UC Santa Cruz graduate.  They are very proud of both of their children.  Family is extremely important to Mrs. Griffiths.  She stated that Ripon’s strong community and family atmosphere is one of the main things that attracted her to the principal position at Colony Oak. 

Mrs. Griffiths is very excited to be a part of the Ripon family/team.
