A Message from Mrs. Griffiths

Dear Colony Oak Families,

We are so appreciative of your patience and support. Our entire Colony Oak staff hopes that all of our Colony Oak Families are staying well and staying safe. We are so excited to share with you that our teachers and staff are working hard developing lessons to provide online learning for your students.

Our school will be utilizing Google Classroom, Class DOJO, Remind and Zoom to provide these opportunities. Office hours with teaching staff will be established this week and held twice a week for questions and answers starting next week. This week’s lessons will be shared out to students on Thursday and will focus on Math and English Language Arts. Also look for our Character Strong Dares that are included in our Cougar News. Instructional lessons will be expanded over the course of the coming weeks. Today teachers are reaching out to families to see if your child does not have access to a technology device or internet. If you have not already responded to your student’s classroom teacher please reach out to me, Mrs. Griffiths at cgriffiths@riponusd.net right away so we can explore options.

We are all working hard to keep abreast of the current information. I have met with Dr. Robeson and our administration staff daily since the school closure. I also keep in daily contact with our staff and on two occasions have met with the entire teaching staff through Zoom. It was great to see everyone faces and see how they are doing. We are constantly discussing our next steps while continuing to monitor what is happening at the local, state, and federal levels. We will continue to provide you all with updated information as it comes in.

Thank you for building capacity with us in the true sense of continuous improvement, as we all expand our skill-sets through learning and increasing our knowledge via the use of the online learning platform.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Cheryl Griffiths
