Distance learning will continue...

This email is on behalf of Superintendent Robeson.

April 2, 2020

Dear Ripon USD Families:

It is with a heavy heart that I send this information to you. In an overabundance of caution and out of concern for the health and safety of our students and staff, Ripon Unified School District is following the recommendation of San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools James Mousalimas, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and San Joaquin's County Health Director, Dr. Maggie Park by dismissing traditional learning at our school facilities through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. However, the school year is not over and learning will continue through distance learning. We want to thank our teachers and all our staff for their diligent efforts in our new era of online learning as they continue their work to finish the year strong!

We appreciate all the patience and understanding as everyone quickly transitioned to a new way of teaching, working, and learning. We are truly grateful for everyone's support. Should anything change in the future, we will promptly notify all staff and families. We wish good health and safety to all our Ripon USD community and their families.

Attached are the letters from County Superintendent Mousalimas and State Superintendent Thurmond. Please note that Superintendent Thurmond's letter addresses seniors specifically and our high schools will continue to update families of seniors as we work through this new process.

My appreciation to our families and our students during this extraordinarily challenging time. We are most thankful for our Ripon Unified parents and their support of their children during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.
